Q
In part, conditioned taste aversions might be?
A
involved
1
Q
Animals can resist ingesting ____ doses.
A
high
2
Q
Example? (conditioned taste aversion) Beer-->lithium chloride-->barf next day? Wine does not = LiCl Ethanol---> LiCl Sugar water----> Ethanol

Ethanol becomes associated with LiCl so they should stop liking sugar but nope…they liked the sugar more because drinking it seemed to prevent the LiCl since they take the ethanol without an adverse affect….obv not true but association.

Q
Oral self administration?
problem/solution
A
- they do not take in alcohol at sufficent quantities to cause intoxication
- tend to avoid CNS affecting drugs
solution: forced oral administration
4
Q
Intravenous
A
cannula implanted in the blood stream
avoids bad taste, CTA and slows CNS effects
