  • report euphoria and liking along with sedation and fatigue,,
  • diazepam and a placebo were given ….asked to fill out profile of mood states from at that time and at 1, 3, 6 hours later…5-10mg diaz caused less feelings of arousal and vigor and increased fatigue and confusion,,,at one hour mostly seen.(low dose)….high doses its seen up until 3 hours…. feelings are considered unpleasant..few retook the drug
  • positive effects likely due to past exp with drugs like it (or moderate alcohol abuse, opioid use, sedatives, methadone maintenance)

  • higher doses of BDZ have greater risk of impairment next day
  • solution : nonBDZ and BDZ with short half lives are used
  • ris effects greatly affect alcohol effect
  • Z-drugs have none

-direct effects…increase accident % 60 up to 80…added with aclohol = 7.7 fold increase in accident risk
L> individual cannot detect impairment…first time user..
-residual effects…zopicolne and Flunitrazepam had effects until 9am….Flunitrazepam up until 11am
