In the neck located below the larynx and over portions of the trachea

Produces hormones that control the body’s metabolism

Four tiny epithelial knots

Around the posterior thyroid gland

Produces hormones that increase blood calcium levels
Pineal Gland Structure
Small round gland
Pineal Gland Location
posterior, inferior portion of the brain (in the diecephalons)

Regulates the body’s sleep/wake cycle
Pancreas Structure
An elongated organ associated with the start of the small intestine
(looks like a feather)

Posterior to the stomach along the abdominal wall

Produces hormones that regulate blood glucose levels
