Q

what are the bond angles between alkenes

A

roughly around 120 but to be more accurate 121 between the c-h and 118 between the h-h

Q

how does the double bond in alkenes forms

A

p-orbitals sideways overlap to form an orbital with a cloud of electron density above and below the single bond to form a pi (π) bond
Each region negative charge contains one electron – together make up a second shared pair of electrons
forming a pi bond that would restrict the rotation relevant to the c-c bond, and this point we would have a sigma and a pi bond in between the carbon atoms forming a double cond
