Do you know what happened to me (past perfect) this morning?

It was raining when I left the house.
Estaba lloviendo cuando salí de casa.
Just as I was leaving the house I realized that I had not taken the keys.
Justo cuando salía de casa me di cuenta de que no habia cogido las llaves.
Last week I met my friends for dinner.
La semana pasada quede con mis amigos para cenar.
My friends had already finished dinner when I got to the restaurant.
Mis amigos ya habían terminado de cenar cuando llegué al restaurante.
Yesterday I did not see Pedro because when I got home he had already left
Ayer no vi a Pedro porque cuando llegué a casa él ya había salido
I realized that I had left the keys inside the house.
Me di cuenta de que me había dejado las llaves dentro de casa.
Just as (past imperfect) was leaving the house I realized (past indefinite) that I had not taken (past perfect) the keys.
Justo cuando salía (pretérito imperfecto) de casa me di (pretérito indefinido) cuenta de que no había cogido (pretérito pluscuamperfecto) las llaves.
I thought someone had come in to steal!
¡ Pensaba que había entrado alguien a robar !
We are back from vacation this week.

I was leaving the house when the phone rang.

When I closed the door I realized that I had left the keys for me inside the house.
Cuando cerré la puerta me di cuenta de que me había dejado las llaves dentro de casa.
When I got home Carolina had already left.
Cuando llegué a casa Carolina ya se había marchado.
I was leaving when the phone rang .
