What is a foetus?
It is the fertilised zygote as it develops into a baby.
How long does it take for a fetus to become a baby?
Nine months
What is it called when the foetus comes out in less than nine months?
Premature
What happens when the egg and sperm cell meet?
Fertilisation
What happens when the the egg and sperm cell fertilise?
It becomes a zygote and goes down the the uterus and protected by the lining .
Where does the baby gets its oxygen and nutrient from?
The placenta

The Umbilical cord

In the uterus inside the amniotic sac
What protection is in the amniotic sac?

What is it called when the baby has its legs facing the exit?
A breached baby
What does the doctor have to do to get the baby out if it is breached ?
It has to cut the pregnant woman’s tummy and take it out.
How do twins come out ?
The have to cut the woman’s tummy open.
What happens if the mum takes in drugs ,alcohol or smokes?
The baby will take it in and get problems e.g Heart Problems , disabilities.
