What is the safety loop rescue switch for?
To allow a trickle charge to the batteries from a rescuing xtrap
What indications would you get in the driver’s cab the DER had been pulled?
-FDCL
- DOOR EMERGENCY HANDLE ACTIVATED
(status light on)
- Flashing red ANS button
- DDU tone
- CCTV will display image of area
*Doors can freely open or close manually
* traction whilst in running
If there was an issue with the speed threshold, how do you override it?
Tacho bypass to bypass it
How do air compressors work together?
Both work when MR is below 650 until reading 750 kPa
Main Res charges the aux res for what purpose?
EP (friction brakes)
What are the driver’s responsibilities in regards to Aux panel for a mainline prep?
Check the leading and trailing panels

What can cause a FDCL?
- saloon door failing to prove closed & locked
- any fault within the door system & associated train cable connections
- coupler fault after uncoupling
- a DER being activated
Can a train get traction once it has come to a stand with a FDCL?
No
it must be rectified or the door loop bypass key switch must be isolated
If a DER has been activated due to a door fault what must a driver do?
Isolate the door once closed, and report according to the FMP
If it was due to passenger pulling it, we reset the DER by turning the lug horizontally using the tri key
When pantos lower buttons have been pushed in how long do we wait for them to lower?
10 seconds
When we press the stable button, how long must we wait before removing the controller key?
5 seconds

What is a Modified full cab Inspection and when is it required?
Only required on a Pre-movement/ Revenue prep.
Only required to check the FAULT & Status panel & do a lamps & a whistle test instead of full cab inspection.
What will occur when a DER is activated?
-The Doors Close (Blue) will flash
- the door can be manually opened or closed
- traction power will still be available while in running until train is stopped
- CCTV will display an image of that area
The ANSW RED button on drivers console will flash
- the DOOR EMY HANDLE ACTIVATED status light will illuminate
When is a Modified Cab Inspection required?
Only for Pre-movement/ Revenue preps
What are the Modified full cab inspections tests that are required on a pre - movement/ revenue prep?
Brake

What must we remembered to do before entering the trailing cab before stabling it?
We are IN CLEAR of any adjoining roads or sidings
Red marker lights
No obvious damage to rear
How do we lower pantos during stabling?
Insert key
Check EMY pressure & EMY Brake app indicator light is on
Press STABLE
check High Voltage indicator light extinguish
Once 1 or more Pant light 💡 on WAIT 5 sec & THEN remove key
Check pantos down
Exit B side
Contact fleet (siding location, siding no. Motor no.s)
Submit any TMMs
How long do tail lights and EMY lights remain on after stabling?
15 mins on all cars
