A

Its located on the rear cab wall with the CB’s

It bypasses the door status loop circuit if the door status loop fails

(Cab doors are also linked to door loop circuit must ensure they are closed to gain traction)

A

  • distance to the stopping mark

(It also automatically turns on the stopping Aid camera)

The train will assume the platform is shorter

Either first or last saloon door will remain inhibited on the platform as a safety measure

eTIS will advise passengers on the PIDS to Use doors on the next car

What is the drivers responsibility in the event of a sub standard beacon read?

A

Make a PA to let passengers know to move to the next available door

Operate saloon doors as normal

Report as per FMP

  • If a wheelchair ramp is required at the inhibited, first door, the driver must use the ASDC override button to release the affected door only if safe to do so

What must a driver do if there is a ASDC beacon read failure?

A

Driver must follow the ASDC override procedure

A- announcement to passengers
S- Operate SDU ensure all doors on platform
D- Check doors on platform side (cab DOOR)
C - select 1st car to last car (TMS) ON CORRECT platform (doors must turn green) before using ASDC override button

A

DER is disabled when the train is stabled or when the HCMT is remotely started

DER is enabled once the cab is activated by a driver and remains until the train is stabled

What are the two stages of DER operation?

A

Stage 1 - DER is pulled -20 seconds

stage 2 - door opens if the DER is not inhibited by the driver Within the first 20 seconds

  • Intercom and CCTV is activated
  • The EED alert will illuminate on the affected car door on the SDU
  • Level 3 alert appears on the HMI
  • If train is in motion, the door will remain locked
  • If Train is Stationary :

The driver has 20 seconds to allow or inhibit the door release (otherwise it can be opened manually)

the driver will receive a level 2 alert after 10 sec of DER being pulled

The DER activated status of a saloon door (in the train pictogram) will be red and flashing

  • If the box within the picture is solid gray, the door is not open
  • If the box is on the outside of the train pictogram, the door has been opened

A

No

The handle could go beyond 20sec wait time to reach stage two or indefinitely stay in stage 1
