Do we test the Vigilance key switch ?
No we just ensure it is in the normal position
What components make up the Master Controller panel?
Master key switch - on/ off
Master Selector switch - FWD / Neutral/ REV /

Master Controller handle - EMY

0 (COAST)
DRIVE (D1 - D7)
What position must the Master Controller be in to use the selector switch?
B6
When master key switch is on what is not able to be operated?
Train stable button
Do the pantos automatically raise when cab is activated?
No
We must press the panto up button
(Wait for beeps to stop first once you activate cab)
Is the Master selector switch a reverser?
No but it has the same functions
In what position must the master selector switch be in to be able to move the master controller out of the B 6 position?
Any position EXCEPT Neutral
How do you set back?
With the train in REVERSE position
When would we put the train in Neutral position?
When at a signal at danger
Cab unattended
Cab deactivated
(B6, neutral, key out)
What colour will the marker lights be when train is placed to neutral?
They will go from white to RED
What will happen if speed exceeds 125km/ h?
EMERGENCY BRAKE APPLIES
When in Forward will headlights & marker lights automatically turn on?
If so what colour?
Yes
White
What is the limit on the set speed on the master selector switch?
6km / h
Max is 8 (overspeed will activate when powering)
What is set speed used for?
Slow powering : going through a wash
Coupling
Driving through a maintenance facility
What must we be aware of on set speed?
No holding brake it cuts out automatically
Train can roll back if not powering
When using go from B1 straight to set speed- do not go from B1 to coast then set speed (can roll back)
What position of MC and selector switch to remove or operate the controller key?
Selector switch - neutral
MC in B6
What type of brake is EMERGENCY?
Pneumatic
Electric
Mechanical?
Pneumatic friction brake only
(ED and traction power are automatically isolated)
What are the headlight switch positions?
Auto
Low
High
Normally in auto
How do we know another cab is is active on the train?
Another Cab active indicator is illuminated red
When does the camera operate?
When train is stationary or moving?
When train is stationary
Which doors does door inhibit button override?
Auto close feature on doors 1 & 4 on that car
To assist with special needs passengers
Press blue door close button will turn off the override
What happened when a DER is activated?
The DER will activate RED
Audible tone
Flashing blue door close light
CCTV will come up automatically
What position must MC be in to be able to reset trip?
Coast
When does the uncouple button illuminate steady red?
When cab is in the coupled position to adjoining unit
When does the uncouple button start to flash red ??
Indicating that Low Main Res pressure is present (when Main Res pressure drops below operating range)

How do we perform a VICERS test?
Hold in the blue Vicers test button for 2 seconds on the drivers Instrument panel
On the duplex gauge what are the two indicators
Main Res pressure RED
Brake Cylinder pressure WHITE
Where is VICERS repeater light?
Its blue
On instrument panel at eye level
What is the delay from when we push the train stable button for pantos to lower?
30 seconds approximately
How long does it take for the train to stable after pushing stable button?
45 seconds
- Key must be out to stable
Cab heater switch positions?
(Same as cab fan switch)

Desk spot light switch positions?
Off / on
How many cab lights are there in the ceiling?
2
B side acts as an emergency in case there is a loss of power
What indicator do we have if E.S.B is activated (pushed in)?
The E.S. Active indicator light illuminates red
