a collection of signs and symptoms that are caused when a person is exposed to toxic levels of a particular substance
what is the resucitation approach to an unconcious suspected overdose paitent?
Airway, breathing, circulation, control seizures, correct hypoglycemia, correct hyperthermia, rescuitation antidotes
what is done in the risk assesment?
agent, dose, time since injestion, clinical features/course, paitent factors, progress of symptoms
what may cause an over dose?
deliberate accidental recreational occupational drug toxicity build up envenomation
what are the steps of the risk assessment approach?
resuscitation, risk assessment, supportive care/investigations, treatment/decontamination, deposition of patient
what drugs can cause seizures in overdoses?
Venlafaxine, bupropion, tramdol, amphetamines
