what is the pharmocolgy?
anti-emetic
%HT3 antagonist which block receptros both centrally and peripherally
what are the contraindications?
known hypersensitivity, long QT syndrome, hypermagnisa and hyperkalemia, pt on apomorphine
what are the precautions?
pt with liver disea shouldnt have more than 8mg perday
care taken with paitents on diuretics where theyre may be underlying elctrolyte imbalences
concurrent use with tramadol
pregnancy
contains aspartame and not to be given to pts with phenylketonuria
what are the side effects?
Hypersensitivity, OT prolongtation, widening QRS, AF?SVT, seizures, extrapyrmidal reactions, visual distrubances
constipation, headaches, fever, dizziness, rise in liver enzymes
what is the onset, peak and uration of OTD?
2 minutes
20 minutes
120 minutes
what are the onset, duration and peak for IV?
onset 5 minutes
peak 10 and duration between 2.5 and 6.1 hours
IV slow push of at least 20 seconds
