what is the presenstation?

what is the pharmacology of adrenaline?
increased HR by increasing SA node firing rate - beta 1
increase conduction velocity through av node - beta 1
increases myocardia; contractility beta 1
bronchodilation beta 2
perhipheral vasoconstriction alpha
how is it metabolised?
by monoamine oxidase and other enzymes in the blood, liver and nerve endings, secreted in the kidneys
what are the precautions?
elderly/frain
pts with cardiovascular disease
pt on monoamine oxidse inhibitors
higher doses may be required for paitents on beta blockers
what are the side effects?
tachycardia, SVT, Ventricular arythmias, hypertension, pupil dilation, increases size of MI, feeling anxious/palpitations
what are the IV
onset , peka and suration?
30 seconds, 3-5 minutes, 5-10 minutes
what are the IM onset, peak and duration?
30 - 90 seconds
4-10 minutes
5-10 minutes
