“The American Plan”

After the turmoil of 1919, corporate leaders spread the doctrine that unionism was riotous and that instead democratic captialism was the protection of open shop.
That crusade of the open shop was called “the American Plan” which recieved endorsement of the National Association of Manufacturing in 1920.

“Welfare Capitalism”

Employers in the 1920’s adopted paternalistic techniques that became known as “welfare Capitalism”, this happened because of most workers standard of living rising during the decade with improved working conditions and other benefits. One example of this was how Henry Ford shortened the work week, raiseed wages and instituted paid vacations.

Harlem Renaissance

In postwar Harlem located in New York city, a new generation of black artists created an African- American culture known as the “Harlem Renaissance.”
It consisted of night clubs with jazz musicians, musical comedies, but mostly it centered around literature, poetry and art (which drew from African roots).

It was a military conference held in Washington from 12 November 1921 to 6 February 1922.
It was attended by none nations (the United States, Japan, China, France, Britain, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, and Portugal) to discuss interests in the Pacific Ocean and East Asia and to attempt to prevent a costly naval armaments race between America, Britain and Japan.
