Versed: Indications

A

Sedation, relieve anxiety, and impair memory of events (intubation, ventilated pts, cardioversion). Used with or without narcotic for conscious sedation. Also as a component in the induction of anesthesia before administration of other anesthetic agents, and for pts in status seizures.

Airway obstruction, apnea, hypotension, O2 desat, respiratory and/or cardiac arrest, paradoxical behavior or excitement, coughing, HA, hiccups, N/V, and nystagmus (especially in children).
