2-PAM: action
Reactivates cholinesterase to effectively act as an antidote to organophosphate and pesticide poisonings. This allows for destruction of accumulated acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction resulting in reversal of respiratory and skeletal muscle paralysis

Rx of organophosphate or pesticide exposure/poisonings
2-PAM: contraindications
Reduced dose with impaired renal function

Dizziness, HA, neuromuscular blockade, seizure, laryngospasm, hyperventilation, apnea, tachycardia, cardiac arrest, nausea, rash, pain at injection site
2-PAM: supplied
Auto-injector with 600 mg in 2mL
2-PAM: adult dose
Auto injector IM, may be repeated PRN q 15m

Most effective ASAP after exposure
