A

The entire site: equipment, biosecurity, site maintenance, and get an idea of overall attention to detail

A

Walk from one end of the building to the other - look at ventilation, stocking density, general health of all pigs, equipment, and group’s overall assessment

Individual waters and feeders
Different pig sizes

A

Distinguish individual pig problems vs. herd problems
Evaluate entire pig (head to tail)
Select individual pigs for necropsy which represent the herd’s problem

What are the objectives of the 4 circle evaluation scheme?

A

Look at the whole picture first
Start big and then narrow your focus to help separate individual pig issues vs. whole herd problems
Use information to guide you for recommendations
Be systematic so you don’t forget something
