A

the business decides that the employees position is no longer available, sometimes because technology, lower sales or production, relocation, restructures or reorganises.

resignation

A

the act of telling your employer you are leaving the business, resignation is voluntary termination that occurs when an employee chooses to leave the business, usually to go to another job. a period of notice needs to be given and a exit interview.

dismissal

A

is the termination of an employment by an employer against the will of the employee. this usually due to a breach in policies, regulations, laws or not performing. dismissal should be done in correct and lawful manner.
unlawful dismissal: when an employee is dismissed in a harsh, unjust or unreasonable manner
serious misconduct: employer does not have have to provide any notice of termination or pay outstanding entitlements.

when an employees job becomes redundant an employer must give them redundancy/severance pay. the amount is based on their continuous services with an employer
