autocratic
the leader dictates policies and procedures, decides the objectives that are to be achieved and directs all the activities to achieve these objectives without any participation from employees.
persuasive
manager attempts to convince employees that their decision is the right way to g. authority and control are retained by the manager and communication is one way
consultative
the manager recognises the importance of good relationships with their employees and consults with staff on issues before making the final decision themselves
participative
the manager shares the decision making responsibility with the employees, communication is in both directions and employees ae given a share of responsibility
laissez faire
the employees are totally responsible for the decision making and operations of the business and the manager has no central role of power. the manager may still set objectives and have ultimate accountability, but it is the employees who affectively run the business
