the desire to do things. in a business the manager wants employees to strive for things that will achieve their business objectives
steps
physiological, safety, social, esteem, self actualisation
physiological
needs we have to survive. eg food and water. business is providing pay, a job and an income.
safety
feeling safe and secure with financial security and personal environment. OH&S is provided and the job is secure
social
the need for love and affection, sense of belonging. a business can do this by providing team work environments, social activities to build relationships. induction programs.
esteem
wanting to feel the respect of feel the sense of accomplishment. a business can fulfil this by providing recognition, delegating tasks to employees, providing power to the employee.
self actualisation
achieving full potential. the need for a personal growth and challenging work. provided through a business by asking the employees personal goals, availability of advancement and promoting the employee.
