What is agility?
The ability to change position and control the body at speed.
Sporting Example: Basketball players have to have good agility to dribble past defenders - Lebron James.
What is balance?
Being able to keep the body stable while at rest or on the move.
Sporting Example: Gymnasts have to have good balance - Simone Biles.
What is co-ordination?
The ability to use two or more body parts together.
Sporting Example: Cricketers need good co-ordination when batting - Will Jacks.
What is power?
The ability to undertake strength performances quickly. It can be written as a formula:
○ Power = strength x speed
Sporting Example: High jumpers need power in their legs to jump high - Artur Patyka.
What is reaction time?
The time between a stimulus and a movement in response to it.
Sporting Example: F1 drivers need a fast reaction time to react to the lights at the start of the race or other cars - Oscar Piastri
What is speed?
The rate at which an individual can perform a movement or cover a distance.
Sporting Example: A winger in football needs good speed to run past defenders - Adama Traore.
