ΣΤΡΥΜΟΔΩΡΟΣ εἰκός γε·
STRYMODOROS “Rightly, indeed.”
φησὶ γὰρ ὁ Ἀπολλόδωρος τὸν Στέφανον ἆρξαι τῆς ἔχθρας, καὶ αὐτὸς τιμωρίας ἕνεκα ἀγωνίζεσθαι ἀδικήθεις ὑπ’ αὐτοῦ.
“For Apollodoros says that Stephanos began the enmity and that he himself is bringing the action for the sake of revenge, because he has been wronged by him.”
ἃ πάντα ἔλεγες σύ, ὦ Κωμία.
“All this is what you said, Komias.”
ΕΥΕΡΓΙΔΗΣ ταῦτα δὴ ἐλέχθη ὑπὸ Ἀπολλοδώρου, ἀλλ’ ἡγοῦμαι τὸν Ἀπολλόδωρον ἴσως γέ τι σπουδαῖον λέγειν.
EUERGIDES “These things were said by Apollodoros, but I think that perhaps Apollodoros is saying something important.”
πρῶτον μὲν γὰρ ἔφε Ἀπολλόδωρος εἰς κίνδυνον καταστῆναι περὶ πενίας καὶ ἀτιμίας, καὶ οὐ δυνήσεσθαι τὰς θυγατέρας ἐκδοῦναι·
“For first of all Apollodoros said that he had been put in danger of poverty and loss of citizen rights, and that he would not be able to give his daughters in marriage.”
