ΚΩΜΙΑΣ νὴ καὶ σύ γε, Εὐεργίδη.
“What a big crowd!”
ὅσος ὁ ὄχλος.
“But who is this?”
ἀλλὰ τίς ἐστί οὑτοσί;
“It’s not really our neighbor Strymodoros, is it?”
οὐ δήπου Στρυμόδωρος ὁ γείτων;
“Yes, by Zeus, it is indeed the man himself.”
ναὶ μὰ τὸν Δία, αὐτὸς δῆτ’ ἐκεῖνος.
“Oh what luck!”
ὢ τῆς τύχης.
“But I did not expect to meet Strymodoros spending his time in the lawcourt, since he is a young man and without experience in judicial matters.”
ἀλλ’ οὐκ ἤλπιζον Στρυμοδώρῳ ἐντεύξεσθαι ἐν δικαστηρίῳ διατρίβοντι, νέῳ δὴ ὄντι καὶ ἀπείρῳ τῶν δικανικῶν.
EU. “Why don’t you call him over here?”
ΕΥ. τί οὐ καλεῖς αὐτὸν δεῦρο;
“It will be possible for him to sit with us.”

KOM. “A good suggestion (lit: you speak well), and we will call him.”
ΚΩ. ἀλλὰ καλῶς λέγεις καὶ καλοῦμεν αὐτόν.

STRYMODOROS “Greetings neighbors.”
ΣΤΡΥΜΟΔΩΡΟΣ χαίρετε, ὦ γείτονες.
“Oh the size [lit. how big the matter] of the crowd!”
ὅσον τὸ χρῆμα τοῦ ὄχλου.
(He is pushed by a juror who takes hold of his cloak.)
(ὠθεῖται ὑπὸ δικαστοῦ τινος, ὃς τοῦ ἱματίου λαμβάνεται.)
“You, what do you mean by taking hold of my cloak?”
