Klinfelter syndrome
XXY male inactivated X chromosome.
Presents with developmental delay
Turner Syndrome
XO
Short stature with ovarian dysgenesis.

Double Y males
Phenotypically normal
Very tall due to nondijunction event.
Associated with severe acne, learning disability, and autism disorders.
True hermaphroditism
46 XX or 47 XXY
Both ovarian and testicular tissue present.
Testosterone levels are high but LH levels are low
This tells you T levels are high regardlss of LH signalling.
Look for testosterone secreting tumor or exogenous steroid use.
Low testosterone levels but high LH levels
Hypogonadism
What could lead to male or female pseudo hermaphidite?
Females due to excessive androgenic steroids during pregnancy.
Males due to androgen insensitivity syndrome causing the mullerian duct not to form.
what could lead to masculinization of a female?
Aromatase deficiency, the inability to convert estrogen from androgens.
Will have high levels of testosterone and androstenedione.
What would happen if you had a 5 alpha reductase deficiency?
The patient would be unable to convert testosterone to DHT thus there would be high evels of testosterone
What is Kallmann syndrome?
The failure to complete puberty leading to hypogonadotropic hypogonadism.
Defective migration of GnRH cells
What treatment can be given for hypertensive pregnancy?
Labetalol
Nifedipine
Hydralazine
Alpha methyl Dopa
Look for BP of 140/90
Where are ectopic pregnancies most commonly found
In the ampula of the fallopian tube.
