Apraxia
inability to perform particular purposive actions, as a result of brain damage.
Agnosia
inability to interpret sensations and hence to recognize things, typically as a result of brain damage.
Aphasia
inability (or impaired ability) to understand or produce speech, as a result of brain damage.
Ataxia
(Damage to cerebella) Lack of muscle control, impaired balance/ coordination, slurred speech, jerky eye movements, blurred or double vision.
Tachyphylaxis
Person no longer receives positive effects from drug (common in SSRI & MAOI)
Agranulocytosis
Dangerous low white blood cell count (side effect of both anti-convalesce & atypical antipsychotics)
Akathisia
Sense of inner restlessness (side effect of traditional antipsychotics) resulting in continuously moving around.
Dystonia
Uncontrollable muscle contraction (side effect of traditional antipsychotics)
Athetosis
abnormal muscle contractions cause involuntary writhing movements (Huntingtons Disease)
Dyskinesias
involuntary, erratic, writhing movements of the face, arms, legs or trunk.
Paresthesia
burning or prickling sensation that is usually felt in the hands, arms, legs, or feet, but can also occur in other parts of the body.
Anomia
Difficulty remembering names of objects or people.
Asomatognosia
Lack of interest or recognition in body part.
Anosognosia
Denial of one illness
Hemiplegia
complete paralysis of one side of the body
