Q

Molarity of Strong Acids

A
  • Molarity is equal to [H+] for monoprotic acids.
    0. 10M HCl -> 0.10 M [H+] + 0.10M Cl-.
  • Sulfuric acid is only strong diprotic acid.
    0. 10M H2SO4 -> 2 (0.10M) H+ + 0.10M (SO4)2-.

Q

Molarity of Strong Bases

A
  • Molarity is equal to [OH-] for monobasic bases.
    0. 023M NaOH -> 0.023M Na+ + 0.023M OH-.
  • Formula unit for dibasic bases:
    0. 023M Ca(OH)2 -> 0.023M (Ca)2+ + 2(0.023M) OH-.
