A way of doing calculations where you can change the values without changing the meaning.
What are Conversion Factors?
Ratios of equivalent values having different units (i.e.: 1 dozen = 12 units).
What are the most common Conversion Factors?
12 inches = 1 foot; 1 mile = 1,760 yards or 5,280 feet; 1 yard = 36 inches; 2,000 pounds = 1 ton; 16 ounces = 1 pound; 32 ounces = 1 quart; 1,000 mm = 1 meter; 1 kilometer = 1,000 meters; 100 centimeters = 1 meter; 1,000 milliliters = 1 liter; 1,000 milligrams = 1 gram.
What are some of the most common Cross-System Conversion Factors?
1 meter = 1.094 yard; 2.54 centimeters = 1 inch; 1 kilogram = 2.2 pounds; 454 grams = 1 pound; 1 Liter = 1.06 quarts; and 1 cubic foot = 28.32 Liters.
