Colligative Properties Flashcards
1
Q
What do Colligative Properties count on?
A
Colligative Properties of Solutions depend only on the number of dissolved particles. T(b)=K(b)m. Change in temperature equals constant times molality. K(b) is the boiling coefficient. K(f) is the freezing coefficient.
MULTIPLY THE END BY THE AMOUNT OF PARTICLES
2
Q
How do you find the freezing and boiling point of something?
A
You input the proper value and you multiply it by the molal.
3
Q
What is Osmosis?
A
Osmosis is the flow of solvent molecules from an area of low concentration to an area of high concentration that have been separated with a semi-permeable membrane.
