Severe hypotension refractory to IV boluses caused by:
Cariogenic shock
Septic shock
Neurogenic shock

Hypotension caused by hypovolemia

Extravasation of the IO/IV may cause tissue necrosis Tachycardia Increased myocardial oxygen demand Hypertension Dysrhythmias Palpitations Chest pain Dyspnea Nervousness Anxiety Dizziness Headache Tremors Nausea Vomiting
Route of administration for norepinephrine
Infusion
Onset/Peak/Duration for norepinephrine
O: Immediate
P: < 1 minute
D: 1-2 minutes
Adult dosages for norepinephrine
Infusion: 0.1 - 2 mcg/kg/min, titrated to effect
Pediatric dosages for norepinephrine
Infusion: 0.05 - 0.1 mcg/kg/min, titrated to effect
Special considerations for norepinephrine
The drug can increase adverse reaction when administered with another sympathomimetic drugs
An infusion pump should be used when possible
