Onset of action for atropine sulfate
Immediate
Adult dosages for atropine sulfate (bradycardia)
1.0 mg
May repeat every 3-5 min
Max dosage: 3.0 mg
Pediatric dosages for atropine sulfate (bradycardia)
0.02 mg/kg
May repeat the dosage every 3-5 min
Max dosage: 1.0 mg in children, 2.0 mg in adolescents
Special considerations for atropine sulfate
Consider transcutaneous pacing for bradydysrhythmias refractory to administration of the drug
Adult dosages for atropine sulfate (organophosphate poisoning)
1-4 mg
May double the dosage every 5 min
Pediatric dosages for atropine sulfate (organophosphate poisoning)
0.03-0.05 mg/kg every 10-20 min
