Q

motor neurons are going to exit the spinal cord through the ________ of the spinal cord.

Q

how do motor neurons leave the spinal cord?

A

go through anterior rootlets and then the rootlets end up forming an anterior root and then they eventually combine with the sensory neurons to form the spinal nerve which then carry out to the muscles and glands of the body and tell them what to do

Q

what is the posterior/dorsal root ganglion?

A

a bulbous structure that happens at every level where nerves are coming IN TOWARDS the spinal cord
- a collection of cell bodies of the sensory neurons
- an axon comes in to bring in information, then the cell body, and then another axon carrying the information into the spinal cord

Q

how does the sensory neurons travel to the spinal cord?

A

from the dorsal root ganglion, to the dorsal/posterior root, and then in through the posterior or dorsal rootlets
