Mitosis Flashcards
How many stages of mitosis are there
4
Name all stages of mitosis
Prophase Pee
Metaphase More
Anaphase After
Telophase Tea
Prophase
Chromosomes uncondense and thicken so they are visible
Nucleolus disappears and nuclear envelope begins to break down
Centrioles start to move to opposite pole
Metaphase
Chromatids attached to the centomeres
Spindle fibres from centrioles attach to centromere and move chromosones to the middle
Envelope and nucleolus fully dissapeared
Metaphase for middle
Anaphase
Spindle fibres contract
Centromeres of chromatids split and one chromatid from each chromosome is pulled to opposite poles
Each half of the cell receives one chromatid that is identical to the one in the other pole because each half of a chromosome are identical chromatids
Telophase
New nuclear envelope and nucleolus start to form around each group of chromatids
Chromosomes begins to uncoil and become less distinct
Centrioles disappear
