M+F REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEMS Flashcards
when does testicular descend occur?
during gestational development in humans
what is the Testis (& epididymis) anchored by?
anteriorly by the Diaphragmatic (cranial) ligament
posteriorly by the Gubernaculum testis
what happens as the body grows?
gubernaculum shrinks, diphragmatic ligament degenerates
descent through inguinal canal (Gubernaculum degenerates.)

where is the base attached?
below pubic symphysis
where dies the crura of corpora attach?
attached via ligament to bone
what causes an errection?
NO - arterial dilation- increases blood flow into Corpora cavernosa; turgor (pres.) reduces venous blood flow by constriction

at base of penis
what is the function of the Bulbourethral (Cowper’s) glands?
