Le Chatelier's Principle and Concentration Flashcards
1
Q
What is le chateliers principle?
A
= when an external change is applied to a system at equalibrian
= equalibrian moves in the direction that reduces the effect of the change
2
Q
What happens if we increase the concentration of the reactants?
A
= shifts in favour of the forwards reaction, to produce more product and reduce the concentration of reactants to be the same and reach equaliberian again
3
Q
What happens if we increase the concentration of the products?
A
= shifts in favour of the backwards reaction, to produce more reactant and reduce the concentration of the product, until it reaches equaliberian
