Factors effecting equalibrian Flashcards

1
Q

How does a change in concentration affect the value of Kc?

A

= when we increase the concentration of a reactant the system will counetract the change by shifting the equalibrian to the forwards reaction to increase the product and returning to equalibrian
= there is no effect to the Kc- as the equalibrian will return to the original value- constanr

Q

How does affecting the temperature affect the kc constant?

A

= if forwards reaction is exothermic and reverse reaction is endothermic and if the temperatrure decreases it will be in favour of the exothermic forwards reaction to heat the system up back to equalibrian so more products is formed and less reactants so Kc increases
