Case Management Policy (stated twice on 1st page of policy)
Is an ongoing process involving all members.
Assignment of a case shall be to a single member who shall:
Responsible for the reports on the case
Account for evidence
Coordinate investigative activity and information .
ACISS & RAMS case file ACCESSIBILITY:
ACISS = value assigned (case dissemination field)
RAMS= all users
What is ACISS case dissemination?
Is the method for distributing case information after it has been created.
SYSTEM WIDE: visible to any operator, regardless of assignment
CHAIN OF COMMAND: Only person can view is the case, is the lead officer & operators listed on the additional authorized user screen & anyone who has the appropriate security clearance for the case.
HIDDEN: the record will be treated as a hidden entity, and following existing access rules for hidden entities.
Who is responsible for the secure storage of hardcopies of reports?
OIC
Release/access of records shall be limited to department members for this reason:
An identified investigatory reason, & for lawful reasons with approval from OIC.
Which cases are not eligible for case suspension?
Certain cases due to their serious, nature are not eligible for suspended status (RAPE…..MURDER, - it’s

Who has the authority to approve a request to close a case?
Only the station/Section/Unit commander.
