When a detainee enters the barracks, the desk officer shall
Make a DAJ entry, noting date, and time for detention condition of detainee including any observed injuries, illness, or complaints
When a detainee comes into the barracks the desk officer shall ask:
If they require any medical assistance and record response, and any actions thereafter in the DAJ.

What do I do if an attorney calls?
Immediately relay the attorneys message to them, including a message where applicable advising them not to talk to investigators.

In temporary detention rooms (such as booking rooms) what should I do in the presence of a detainee?
Have portable radio on, or other means of communication with the desk officer.

Arresting members are responsible for booking. The following is a list of what the booking consist of:
Completing a booking sheet
Conducting an inventory of property
Conducting searches, fingerprinting, photographing, and administering of tests

During booking, you will read the Miranda warning from a printed card or form.
When does the detainee have the right to use a telephone?
Within 1 hour of being brought in custody into a department facility.
Detainees shall be handcuffed to the cuffing bar or other immovable object, which is specifically designed for that purpose
Handcuffs may be removed to facilitate the administration of booking related duties, including inventory, fingerprinting, photographing, and the administration of the arrest related testing.
At no time should I ever leave detainee unattended outside the conference of a cell
An exception may be warranted when visiting with counsel or an interested adult
What coverage does the audio and video monitoring system use?
24 hour monitoring of detainees.
How often are cell checks?
30 minutes face to face using the electronic monitoring device. All checks are in the DAJ. You also have keys in your possession in case immediate entry required. These keys shall all times remain in the desk area and be under control the desk officer outside of the checks.
Shift change
Desk officer, informs new desk officer of the account on deck, then Face-to-face, physical, count of all detainees by incoming desk guy.
Information received from a source pertaining to a detainees risk of harming themselves shall be considered what?

The desk officer shall assign a member to a Q5 watch when;
Make a suicide threat or attempt
Clearly exhibited signs or symptoms of suicidal behavior
Has an entry in a Q5 query from a prior suicide threat or attempt at a detention facility
Has an entering in Q5 query that did not occur detention facility
After the desk officer assigns
a member to a Q5 watch, then what shall he do?
Assigned member shall physically watch the detainee at all times.
Desk officer forms, the TDO of the Q5 watch
Desk officer, shall log information related to the Q5 watch in the DAJ.
Desk officer shall adhere to all other duties outlining this monitoring section of the policy and the detainee may be transported to medical facility for evaluation.
If not actively suicidal, but express suicidal ideation (no specific plan)
Desk officer shall physically check the detaining on a unpredicted schedule not to succeed every 15 minutes and log in the DAJ, use the electronic monitoring device.
