What is the nomination procedure for awards?
Supervisor shall make nomination according to the following process:
DEPARTMENT MEMBERS:
-Consult the list of the awards board criteria
-Complete an electronic EES supervisor observation report or an EES, quarterly performance evaluation, and;
-Electronically forward, through channels, within the awards database designated by the division of standards and training the respect of award recommendation, and reasoning (i.e. Medal of Valor) to the appropriate Division Commander.
-Attach any supporting documentation, relevant to the submission within the awards database.
Division Commander duties for Awards Board nomination procedures:
-Determine if the act is worthy of recognition;
-Electronically forward it within the award database, the respective award recommendations to the EES coordinator and the Awards Board;
-Ensure all documentation supporting award selection is electronically attached/uploaded within the awards database.
The Award Boards nomination procedures:
Meet biannually or as needed to review recommendations from the division commanders;
Make recommendations to the Colonel, based upon a majority vote ; and
Return recommendations, which do not rise to the level of an award, to the appropriate Division Commander.
The Colonels duties for the nomination procedure for awards:
-Review the biannual recommendations from the Awards Board and;
-Notify the Awards Board of any changes to the recommendations.
What is the Awards Board notification procedure?
Notify each division Division Commander in writing of all actions, taken regarding the awards nomination for the division;
Notify Media Relations of the nominees at least 45 days before the next scheduled ceremony .
