Paid Details without any exceptions may be worked by what ranks?
Trooper through Detective Lieutenant.
For a captain/detective captain, who does he get approval to work Paid Details from?
Deputy superintendent.
- Detail must be a “non-construction” detail where they must supervise at least 10 officers.

- A vacancy exists on the type of detail after the primary and secondary list of the respective Troop have been completely exhausted of eligible members .
Once assigned a paid, Detail can a captain/detective captain be bumped?
No, they cannot be bumped by another commissioned officer, or a noncommissioned officer, or Trooper, within 24 hours of the start time of the assigned detail.
What is scheduled work hours?
A regular shift or tour of duty consisting of 8.5 hours.
What is work?
Defined to include hours, actually worked during regularly scheduled duty, overtime, court time and Paid Details.
Member shall not schedule a work combination of assignments and/or Details which they know or should know will result in a direct violation of what?
16.5 hour rule.
What happens to a type I paid Detail assignment that goes beyond the 4.0 hour duration?
It shall automatically be converted to a type II detailed assignment.
What happens to a TYPE II Paid Detail assignment that goes beyond the 8.0 hour duration?
Shall be extended in 30 minute increments to be paid based on the hourly rate of time and 1/2.
On what two days of the year shall a member receive time in 1/2 Detail pay for the actual hours worked?
Work performed on the calendar day of Thursday, Thanksgiving day, and
On December 25, Christmas Day .
What should I use to prevent overlap?
Accrued, personal or vacation leave offset any overlap and performance with my collective bargaining agreement.
Travel time to/from a regularly scheduled shift to/from an overtime or Detail assignment is:
Expressly authorized provided. Such travel does not exceed 1/2 hour from the geographical boundary of such regularly scheduled shift location.
When am I required to use a MINIMUM 1/2 hr of accrued personal or vacation leave as travel time to or from a detail?
The travel time from your duty assignment to the detail location is GREATER then 1/2 hr.
If I’m not assigned to a specific substation, what is the geographical boundary for me considered?
The geographical boundary for a section/unit is defined as the station of jurisdiction where the REGULAR REPORTING work location is sited.
For the purposes of this policy TDY assignments apply as a members regular reporting location.
For details and travel time what are supervisors held responsible for?
Ensuring members are held accountable for taking appropriate accrued, personal or vacation leave when reporting to or from a paid Detail/overtime if it affects their regular tour of duty assignment, and…
To ensure members accurately document accrued personal or vacation leave, used for travel time to or from a paid detail/overtime when greater than 1/2 hr.
For working details, members shall not:
Request or work overtime or Details within 24 hours from the start time of their regularly scheduled shift when sickleave was taken for:
Personal illness or injury
The presence of a member of the Work location with jeopardize the health of others through exposure to a contagious condition
Member spouse child parent or spouses parent or relative living in a members household is seriously ill.
24 hour ban from OT/DETAILS if burn 8.0 hrs of SL.
