Salutes are given when:
Both in uniform and covered. In the case of commissioned officers, this rule shall only apply to members of a superior rank.

Salutes in formation:
Salute upon command of the commanding officer, when:
In FORMATION, commands are:
“attention”
then “ present arms”
then recovery command of “order arms”
In a moving formation, this is only executed by the commanding officer, leading the formation to command for the formation is as right (or left) and then ready front.
Attention: entering the colonels office, lieutenant colonel, or Major, the member shall:
Remove cover snd stand at attention.
National anthem, what do I do?
In uniform, stand at attention and salute. Face music (unless national flag is displayed)
Start salute starting at first & ending on last note.
In civilian clothes no salute, just right hand over heart.
National flag procedure:
Unless it would interfere with the performance of duty, members wearing the appropriate cover, shall stand at attention, facing the flag, and salute when:
It passes by on all public occasions, ceremonies and parades.
Begins salute when it’s 6 paces away and has passed a distance beyond 6 paces.
It is carried into any building, room, or other place for members are present
It is formally raised or lowered
If in civilian clothes, the right hand is placed over the heart in lieu of the salute.
Pledge of Allegiance procedure:
Standard attention facing the flag, and salute when a uniform wearing the appropriate cover
Stand at attention facing the flag, and place the right hand over the heart if in civilian clothes.
Display of flags procedure:
Flown on the right side of the facility and slightly higher than the state flag.
Flown every day when the weather permits
At night, if they are directly illuminated
Flown at half staff, in honor of a member who dies while in line of duty from the notification of death until dusk of the day of internment

What is the situation with the flags on memorial day?
On memorial day, the flag should be flown at half staff until noon and then raised.
