What is a governor warrant?
When a person arrested outside of Massachusetts has an active warrant in Massachusetts, the district attorney office request that they be returned to Massachusetts through a governor warrant.
What is a straight warrant?
Instead of requesting a summons, request a person be arrested for a crime.
Also, if a person fails to report to the probation officer, the probation officer asked the judge for a straight warrant .
What type of default warrant can only be bailed by a judge of the court that issued the warrant or the court of jurisdiction?
Felony or misdemeanor, punishable by imprisonment for more than 100 days.
What type of default warrant may any person authorize to admit bail?
Misdemeanors, punishable by imprisonment for 100 days or less

Transport to the court, of jurisdiction, where arrest was made, or the court that issued the warrant
Straight warrant, arrested individuals should be?
Transported to the barracks of jurisdiction for booking and processing
What do I do if I receive notification that a person wanted by the department has been arrested in another state as a fugitive?
Contact the Troop Duty Officer who shall contact the SPDU.
If the DA authorizes the rendition of the detaining named in a fugitive warrant, what does the commanding officer of SPDU of jurisdiction do then?
Notify the arresting out of state agency of the decision by telephone and CJIS Fox messenger ASAP.
What do I do if I receive a governors warrant from another state?
Forward to the commander of SPDU of jurisdiction.
What do I do if I have to serve a summons or subpoena?
Log it in the DAJ and other precautionary measures such as BOP checks date and time of service name of address of person processing served method of service address of service.
If Possible the summon/subpoena shall be serve by giving a copy in hand to the party named .
What do I do if I’m trying to serve a summon/subpoena and the person is not at home?
Leave it with another responsible person residing at the residence
Leave it at the last place of abode of the person named
Put it in the mail if they live outside the area
What if I’m serving a summons/subpoena on a juvenile?
Service may be made in hand to the parent or guardian of the juvenile
If this is not possible, return it to the court with an explanation for non-service .
