Ovary
Two
Responsible for the production of Ova (Eggs), estrogen and progesterone
Onset of puberty the Ova are released during ovulation
Fallopian Tubes
End of the tubes, projections sweep the Ova into the rest of the tube.
Fertilization can occur here
Urterus
Where normal fertilization occurs
Cervix
Lowest portion of the uterus narrows to form this structuve (Neck of the uterus)
Vagina
Starts from external to the area of the cervix (REWORD)
Ovarian Ligament
Extends btw the medial edge of the ovary and the lateral wall of the uterus on either side
Broad Ligament
A double fold of the peritoneum that covers the anterior and posterior surfaces of the uterus as its serous coats
Extends laterally to the pelvic wall on each side,
fallopian tubes situated in the meidal three-fourths of its edge
Round Ligament
Passes from the junction of the faloopian tube and tuterus, through the anterior leaf of the borad ligament to reach the deep inguinal ring where it enters the inguinal canal and emerges to blend with fibers of the labia majora
Ureters
Pass behind the uterus to enter the urinary bladder
Labia Majora
Encloses the external genitalia
Two folds of hairy skin
Continuous of with the hairy skin of the Mons Pubis
Mons Pubis
Hairy skin that covers the pubic symphysis of the pelvis
Labia Minora
Situated inside the labia majora
Two small folds of hairless skin
Encloses the contents of the vestibule
The vestibule
Clitoris, urethra, vagina and vestibular mucous glands
Labia Majora
Much like the scrotum of the male
Clitoris
Includes a prepuce, (foreskin), and has erticle tissue much like the corpora cavernosa
