Q
vegetative propagation
A
- cutting: a slip or piece of wood is planted and grows to form another plant that is the same type (faster than a seed)
- layering: forces a plant to grow roots at another location and then that portion is cut and planted to form a new plant of the same type
- grafting: uses plants of 2 (typically different) species and fuses them together with the stock at the base and the scion being added
- budding: form of grafting but only fuses the bud instead of a larger portion of the plant
- tissue culturing: seedlings are formed from individual cells in a lab
