What is lipodermatosclerosis?
Lipodermatosclerosis refers to changes in the skin of the lower legs. It is a form of panniculitis (inflammation of the layer of fat under the skin). Symptoms include pain, hardening of skin, change in skin color (redness), swelling, and a tapering of the legs above the ankles.
What is a furuncle also known as?
A boil
What is a carbuncle?
Red, swollen, painful and pus-filled boils connected to each other under the skin. They often occur on back of the neck, shoulders and thighs.
What is a furuncle (boil)?
Painful red bumps under the skin due to infection of hair follicles or oil glands.
How does a furuncle (boil) present?
It starts as red, tender lump at the infection area and may grow to form pus-filled lumps.

What is a pilonidal cyst?
A fluid filled sac that develops at the top of the crease between the buttocks.
