cardiovascular causes of syncope

A

can be caused by any alteration of the hearts ability to pump blood through the lungs and body

hypovolemic causes of syncope

A

low blood or fluid volume can cause dizziness when patient attempt to sit up or stand up.

A

when the causes of syncope is metabolic, then something is wrong with the brain or the structures near the brain.

brain must be functioning to maintain consciousness

A

alcohol is the most commonly used drug, and when a patient drinks too much it can lead to an altered level of consciousness.

common with carbon monoxide poisoning

A

can cause syncope by breathing too hard in turn constricting blood vessels and preventing blood flow to the brain. causing a faint, or dizziness
