What is Effleurage?
Soft, Slow & rhythmic (stroking movement) of fingers and palm movement. Gliding hand movement is soothing and relaxing .
Fingers are used on smaller areas like forehead.

Petrissage is :
The kneading, squeezing and pinching of fleshier areas of the face. Knuckling is considered this.
Tepotment is:
Aka percussion. Percussive stroke in which the fingertips strike the skin in rapid succession. (Taps)
TEPOTMENT IS THE MOST STIMULATING
What is Friction?
Invigorating rubbing technique that stimulates circulation and glandular activity. Performed in a circular manner or cross cross. Pressure is maintained.
What is Vibration?
Rapid shaking movement. An esthetician uses their body and shoulder to create movement.
What is the purpose of acupressure?
Derived from Chinese medicine To apply pressure to specific points of the face and body to release muscle tension, restore balance, stimulate chi.
