What are some Facts of the skin?
•Thinest layer is eyelids
•averages a 22 sq ft area
•15% of body weight
•has 3 layers: epidermis, dermis, subcutaneous
•skin is thickest on palms and soles of feet
•skin of average adult weighs 6-9 lbs
•Everyone has the same # of Melanocytes
•Every minute you shed 30,000 dead skin cells
•Epidermis is much thinner than Dermis
