Used in marketing for :
Natural- derived from natural sources
Organic- naturally sourced without pesticide or chemicals. (USDA USES TERM AS IT APPLIES TO FOOD)
cruelty free- not tested on animals
What’s does gluten free, hypoallergenic mean?
Gluten free - free of proteins found in wheat, rye and triticale (cross between wheat&rye) to establish this claim th FDA set threshold of 20 parts per million (ppm)
Hypoallergenic- aka derm tested / non irritating, are ingredients or products less likely to cause allergic reactions.
What does comedogenic and non comedogenic mean?
Comedogenic- ingredients that tend to clog pores
Non comedogenic- tend not to clog pores
What does fragrance free and unscented mean?
Fragrance free- no additional ingredients were added to the product to specifically provide a fragrance but may already contain an ingredient that already has a scent. (Ex : lavender)
