Organs that are fused to the abdominal wall and are behind the peritoneum
What are intraperitoneal organs?
Organs that are inside the peritoneum
What is a mesentery?
A double layer of visceral peritoneum that tends to go out to an organ and back again
What are gastric juices called?
Chyme
What is the region where the oesophagus enters the stomach called?
The cardia
What is the doming part of the stomach above the cardia called?
The fundus
What is the part of the stomach where it exits into the duodenum called?
The pyloras
What are the 3 parts of the small intestine?
Duodenum
Jejunum

What happens at the small intestine?
Enzymatic digestion and absorption
What happens at the large intestine?
Secretes mucous and absorbs water
