Wherever significant project impacts environment, a report is submitted to federal/state/local govt
When are environmental impact reports required?
reports to state/local govt indicating environmental impact of project

How do you calculate crude death rate?
(number of deaths/population) x 1000
How do you calculate disease specific death rate?
Number of people who died from disease/Population
How do you calculate fatality rate?
Number of people who contract disease and die/number of people who contract disease
What is the attack rate of a disease defined as?
cumulative incidence rate used for particular groups and observed for limited periods of time under special circumstances
How do you calculate attack rate?
(number of new events/number of persons who have experienced event) x 1000
What is due process defined as?
No person shall be deprived of rights guaranteed by law
What is delegated authority?
legal power handed down by state to local jurisdictions/agencies (health departments)
What is express authority?
stated in black and white
written law
ex: Cal Code
What is implied authority?
power given to agency which follows expressed authority
ex CUPA
What is an MOU?
Memorandum of Understanding
written agreement by state to local to perform specific jobs on behalf of state

regulates milabeling/misbranding/adulteration of food/cosmetics
