A client who has visual or auditory hallucinations (hearing voices in head like the devil and angry voices telling them to do something)
Hallucination
Where the content of the belief is mistaken, but it is at least possible, such as it is possible for someone to be under constant police surveillance
Non-Bizarre Delusion
Something that could never happen in real life, such as being cloned by aliens or having your thoughts broadcast on TV
Bizarre Delusion
A serious mental illness where a person experiences psychosis, in which a person cannot tell what is real from what is imagined. The main feature of this disorder is the presence of delusions, which are unshakable beliefs in something untrue
Delusional Disorder
Medications:
Client takes Haldol (causes side effect of Tardive Dyskinesia) and also Clozaril
Treatment Planning:
SW always wants a psychiatrist involved when medications are involved
Once a client is stabilized on a drug, then work on their social skills and family therapy to engage with them and get support
